Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and secure our service:

• Account Details: When you sign up, we collect your email address to authenticate you and manage your account.
• Google Drive Connection: If you connect Google Drive, Knot accesses your drive using restricted permissions (only accessing files and folders created by Knot). This is used solely to store your digital library (e.g. books, PDFs, notes, and images) and synchronize your reading progress. Knot does not have access to the rest of your Google Drive, nor do we store your Google Drive credentials on our servers.

How We Use Information

Your information is used solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Knot application. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or saved content to third parties. All files synchronized to your Google Drive belong completely to you.

Cookies

We use cookies to maintain your active authentication session. You can choose to disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may prevent you from logging in or using parts of the service.

Data Retention

We retain your account data only as long as your account is active. You can delete individual items or request to close your account at any time, which will permanently delete your database records on our servers. Your Google Drive files will remain in your own possession.
